FAQs (Admissions and scholarships)

Q: There is not enough time for me to obtain a language proficiency certificate before the application deadline . What do I do?
A: If you are required to submit a proof of English language proficiency but cannot do so by the deadline, your application may still be considered.
In this case you will be urged to provide the proof by deadlines specified by the MESPOM Consortium Co-ordinator.
Q: Can I send my MESPOM application to Lund University, the University of Manchester or the University of the Aegean?
A: In order to streamline the application process, the MESPOM Consortium has decided that all applications should be submitted to Central European University. So please submit your on-line application form and send all the supporting documents to CEU as described in the How to Apply section of this Website.
Q: How do I apply for an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship?
A: Applications for Erasmus Mundus scholarships are made at the time of applying to MESPOM. Candidates may indicate their interest in being considered for Erasmus Mundus scholarships at the Financial Aid section of the on-line application form (links to the new on-line application form will be available soon).
Q: Can citizens of Croatia and FYR Macedonia receive Erasmus Mundus scholarships?
A: Croatia and Macedonia are EU candidate countries and thus their nationals are not eligible for general Erasmus Mundus scholarships. However, in 2008-2010 and 2009-2011 there were specific Erasmus Mundus scholarships for citizens of Western Balkan countries, including Croatia and Macedonia and thus they could have applied for such scholarships. It is, however, not known yet, if this is to be extended over 2010-2012 period.
Q: I come from a third country but I already study in Europe. Can I apply for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
A: Yes, if your period of stay in Europe does not exceed 12 months over the last 5 years by February 28, 2010.
