Manavi Bhardwaj '14 (India)

The last few months of very active job searching has led me to a very exciting opportunity! I have started work as Research Associate at New Delhi based Centre for Science and Environment . The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is a public interest research and advocacy organisation based in New Delhi, India. CSE researches into, lobbies for and communicates the urgency of development that is both sustainable and equitable. I will work for their Sustainable Industrialisation Programme with a main focus on policy research and community support.

The work will cover issues such as industrial pollution, environmental and forest clearances, coastal protection and mining issues in India. Politically India is at a very interesting point in terms of revising her environmental governance and development strategies. So let's see what that brings to the nation and the world. We will also be starting work on mining issues in Africa. Most of my responsibilities currently are focused on mining.

Time to put MESPOM learning into practice!
