Career services and alumni networks

MESPOM has a dynamic alumni network which serves as a great resource for career development and internship opportunities. In addition, MESPOM students and alumni are members of the Erasmus Mundus Association and belong to alumni organizations of Lund, Manchester and CEU.

MESPOM students also benefit from career services assistance offered by each of the partner institutions, one of which, The University of Manchester’s Career Service Office was voted by recruiters best in the UK for five consecutive years from 2002 to 2007.

Carbon Trading company in China

I come from China and joined MESPOM after graduating from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan. At MESPOM I followed the "Preventive Environmental Strategies" track at Lund University.

Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research

Before joining MESPOM in 2005 I graduated in Microbiology at the University of Pune in India. At MESPOM I followed the 'Environmental Science' track at the University of Manchester. I wrote my thesis on reducing the climate impact of aircraft at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research.

UNECE Secretariat of the Water Convention

I am from Germany and studied Social Sciences in Bordeaux and Stuttgart as well as did an internship at UNEP in Nairobi before joining MESPOM in 2005. During MESPOM, one of the best experiences of my life, I went to Manchester for the 3rd semester, but came back to CEU for my thesis since I also worked on several research projects related to energy and sustainable buildings. I am currently a PhD-student at the Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy at CEU, but will start a new job at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE, in Geneva) soon. I will be working in the Secretariat of the Water Convention.

Bioenergy PhD studies at CEU

If one is there to ask whether there is life after MESPOM, believe me, there is. And this life is not less intensive, interesting and exciting than it used to be during our wonderful MESPOM years.

After graduating in 2007, I am starting PhD studies at Central European University. I continue to work on bio-energy issues, trying to promote the idea that biofuels could save the world. Wink Just kidding...

CDM company EcoSecurities

I'm very happy to let you know that today I have accepted an excellent offer from EcoSecurities, a leading company in developing and commercialising greenhouse gas emissions reduction projects (CDM) around the world. I will be based in Oxford and start working from February.

I want to thank the MESPOM opportunity where I gained the knowledge and experience for the offer!
