Summer schools at the CEU Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy

This summer the CEU Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy organises two summer schools in the framework of the CEU Summer University:

The school on Integrating Sustainability Thinking Into Academic Curricula is co-organised with a Marie-Curie research training network GoverNat. The school focuses on emerging and cross-cutting fields of environmental science, policy and management, ranging from scenario building for ecosystem vulnerability assessment to social issues of adaptation to climate change or risks associated with nanotechnologies. The sessions will be led by prominent scholars in their fields, including some of Europe's best experts.  Thematic sessions will run in parallel with complementary skills workshops focusing on project proposals development, paper writing etc.

The school on Sustainable Human Development is policy-oriented. It is co-organised by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Regional Environmental Center (REC). The school’s faculty includes distinguished experts from UNDP Bratislava Regional Centre, Regional Environmental Centre (Szentendre, Hungary) and CEU.

Young academics and sustainability professionals are welcome to apply.The application deadline is March 20, 2009 for the "Integrating sustainability..." school and February 16 for "Sustainable human development".
