This question was posed by the UK newspaper The Independent in early October as Manchester University, the distinguished MESPOM partner, now has more working Nobel Laureates than any British university. Two Russian-born professors Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov have won this year’s Nobel Prize for physics.

We have extended the deadline for applications by  EU citizens until March 16th 2010, so you still have the opportunity to come and study on our program this year. MESPOM is granted Erasmus Mundus status for the second time

MESPOM has been awarded the status of an Erasmus Mundus course for the second time (for 2010-2015). In the last four years, students from over 55 countries of five continents have studied at MESPOM. Last summer it was selected in the first round of the new Erasmus Mundus program together with other joint European Masters courses in areas of European excellence.

University world rankings.. looking good!

One of the MESPOM partner universities, the University of Manchester, has climbed up three places and is now ranked number 26 in the table of the world’s top 200 universities (Times Higher Education 2009). In particular, the ranking includes the results of an employer survey of 3,281 major graduate employers, making up 10 per cent of the overall result. In this category, we were one of only six universities in the UK to score a perfect 100. This evidence confirmed how highly rated The University of Manchester is amongst graduate recruiters.

Erasmus Mundus scholarships for 2008-2010

For 2008-2010, the European Commission will provide not only general Erasmus Mundus scholarships - available to students from all third-countries - but also additional scholarships for nationals of West Balkan countries: Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia. We strongly encourage eligible candidates from these countries to apply to MESPOM.

The third batch of MESPOM graduated!

On June 18, 2009, 39 students accepted to MESPOM in 2007 have become masters of science. The formal part of the graduation, arranged as a part of CEU annual commencement ceremony, took place in Vígszínház, an elegant XIX century theatre on the Grand Boulevard of Budapest. After the ceremony, the graduates, their guests and teachers moved to the boat “Attila”, waiting for them just in a few hundred meters, on the waves of the schönen, blauen Donau.
