E+:Erasmus Mundus scholarships

---- NOT APPLICABLE FOR 2022-2024 ---

Outstanding candidates are offered E+:Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degree (EMJMD) Scholarships of

  • maximum €33,000 per two years of study to outstanding European-based candidates (Programme Country Scholarships).
  • maximum €47,000 per two years of study to outstanding students from outside Europe (Partner Country Scholarships),

The EMJMD scholarship types are based on the residency of selected applicants.

Students with a double nationality (of a Partner and of a Programme Country) must specify the nationality under which they submit their scholarship application.

I) Programme Country scholarships:

Students whose citizenship is one of the Erasmus+ Programme Countries (countries of the European Union, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Serbia or Turkey) count as Programme Country students. Students with a Partner Country citizenship who do not fulfil the Partner Country criteria defined below (12-months rule) also count as Programme Country students.

Programme Country scholarships are of the following contributions:

  • Contribution to participation costs: €4,500/academic year (€9,000 for two academic years). The remaining tuition fees will be waived by the consortium.
  • Contribution to travel costs: €1,000/academic year (€2,000 for two academic years).

Note: Programme Country students who are residents of the country where their EMJMD mobility takes place are ineligible for this contribution.

  • Contribution to subsistence costs: €1,000/month (€22,000 for two academic years).

Note: Programme Country students who are residents of the country where their EMJMD mobility takes place are ineligible for this contribution.

II) Partner Country scholarships:

Partner Country students who are not residents nor have carried out their main activity (studies, training or work) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in any Programme Country are considered as Partner Country students. The five-year reference period for this 12-months rule is calculated backwards as from the submission deadline of applying for an EMJMD student scholarship.

Partner Country scholarships are of the following contributions:

  • Contribution to participation costs: €9,000/academic year (€18,000 for two academic years). The remaining tuition fees will be waived by the consortium.
  • Contribution to travel and installation costs

    • 3 000 EUR per year for travel costs + 1 000 EUR for installation costs for scholarship holder resident in a Partner Country whose location is situated at 4.000 km or more from the EMJMD coordinating HEI.
  • Contribution to subsistence costs: €1,000/month (€22,000 for two academic years).
